Hammer Guns

Why do some of the hammer guns I see the number on the barrel lug does not match the number on the barrel flats and all other numbers match ?

Steve,On early Parker hammerguns the order number was stamped on the gun along with the serial number.

Ya... Steve and the number on the lug is the serial number.
