i just got home from shooting skeet with pete and he shot his 1 st 25 today ! nice! i wish i could rember my 1st time, it was so long ago , scott

Hey Pete - despite the ribbing... Congratulations!!! I know how hard it is to do.... well, actually, I don't. I've never broken 25 at skeet or trap. I break 24 occasionally... sometimes even 24 straight, but never 25.

Thanks fellas, what Scott didn't tell you, I left Addieville wishing for more choke. To get ready for Hausman's I went back to shooting a 1925 12ga VH 28" with .015 and .025. Went out for my second round with a box of reloaded 3/4 ounce of 8.5's, yup a Cheerio in each one for filler. Oh ya Scott has early Alzheimer's his first 25 straight at Skeet was 5/10/10. :-)

It was a good, no a great night, shot with a low gun, singles targets on report and double low hi for the option on station 8.

The same guy you once let shoot a round of trap with that magnificent AAHE that belonged to your grandfather. Not only is it a unique Parker, possibly one of kind ultra high grade Parker, it literally handles like a dream. I would have thought 34 inch barrels to be bordering on unwieldly, nothing of the sort. It points in the most natural fashion and superbly balanced, almost surreal. A magnificent target crusher. If a man were to practice with that gun to become proficient with it he would be highly competitive in todays ATA shooting in spite of it's age. There is no Kreighof or Perazzi that could beat it in performance or ever come close to it's good looks. You are a lucky man.

Hi Peter - and all...

Thank you... I mean that. My great-grandfather, would probably have been a little chagrined at the attention his Parker is receiving in the collecting world today. But, he was a Sportsman, a hunter - and a danged good trap shooter. That's the way I remember him. I have a lot of memories...

Anyway - I think he would be pleased, Pete, that you shot that round of trap with his Parker, as you, Sir - have enjoyed incredible success with the sport - his sport, rather your sport. In fact, I know he would be pleased with your thoughts and your comments above. Thank you for that....

There are so many oft-repeated phrases to describe the handling qualities of a particular gun... "wand-like", "an extension of one's body", "points on it's own"; qualities of balance, pointability, swing weight, liveliness, feel, fit, and so on...

It is my opinion that John's Great-Grandfather's AAHE supercedes all of these descriptions but I'm at a loss as to just how to describe the way it feels when shooting a round of trap with it or even simply lifting it from the rack.
