I have received a research letter for a 16 gauge GH with Damascus barrels. The gun was returned two years after purchase - in 1894 - to "set back swells and reblue". I am unfamiliar with the term set back swells. Can someone explain this to me?

Dents or bulges in barrels, most likely bulges.

Thank you Bill. I felt sure that was the correct answer, but this was a new term to me.
