Default Wood Porn: Fox A grade 16g.

Here are some photos of a Fox A grade I just finished custom stocking. 16g.
My customer supplied me with the absolutely outstanding blank which came from Cecil. If the stock looks long, thats because it is. 16" LOP and left hand cast. This is the second Fox I have stocked for this customer since he was fitted.

This is a perfect example of a blank that has perfect grain flow in the wrist and then goes just crazy in the butt.

All metal surfaces refinished as well. Rust and Nitre Bluing by myself and case colors by Malcolm Clark.

That's a nice stick of wood. I have gotten several blanks from Cecil and all have been exceptional. When I re stocked the Fox XE that blank came from him also.

Nice work Brian, both you and your client should be proud.

Brian, that is beautiful work. I am curious if your customer is Taller than 6'- 6"? I like my legnth of pull at 14 3/4" and I am 6'-3". I know there are a lot of other variables to what the proper LOP is for each individual but that is a very long LOP.

That is one beautiful piece of wood, and your workmanship matches the blank. Great checkering, Brian what kind of finish did you use on that stock, it really pulls the color and grain out without being to shiny.

The finish on this one is Timberluxe.

Keep in mind with this gun that i had some very exacting perameters to stick to in regards to stock dimensions, and some unusual ones at that. And it can be difficult to do so at times and still try to maintain lines that are correct looking for the make of gun.

It's a custom stock so whatever the client wants as to the contour is up to him. Nothing says it has to look "original".

I don't know how much height has to do with LOP. I'm close to 6ft and I like a15" LOP
