Default Need help on 16 ga.

Hoping someone could provide opinion and additional info on 16 ga. I looked at today. The particulars are as follows:
Sn: 233307
DH
28 inch barrels........appear to be uncut
16 gauge
Looks like stock may have been replaced.......has a non-period recoil pad.

Has "parker proof" markings. Could this be for 3 inch shells? Never seen this before.

Site says there are records available. Could someone with books confirm configuration? Sorry, no pics at available at present.

Thanks for the help.....Charles

no - the specs in the serialization book are very basic

there is some chance a letter would give you some information, they sometimes have pellet count information

have you measured the chambers as 3"

Parker proof just means the gun was proofed to Parker standards, it would not be an indication of chamber length to my (admittedly imperfect) knowledge
