Tragic. I google-earthed the area and it appears Butlers Orchard is an island shrinking in all directions. I watched the sprawl into Germantown all through Middletown Rd happen in my late teens and know it’s gotten even worse after visiting about 5yrs ago. What a shame.

When I moved into my present house, there was a large independent (Not Butler owned) orchard abutting my back yard. We befriended the owners and also renewed friendships with the Butlers. The second generation Butler owner had dated my middle daughter in the seventies. As time went on, the owner of Butler's purchased the orchard that bordered my property. Now there is an even bigger piece of land that is totally agricultural. I am right in the middle, a little island in a very developed county.
