We held the 8 gauge event at the Southern as planned, it was a hoot and we had quite a few spectators.

However, one of our own here, Craig Thompson really had a look of determination in his eye and he outshot the group with a score of 28 out of 30 targets.

Congratulations Craig, you made it look easy!!

A big shout out to Stan Hoover for buying the 8ga trophy from his own funds, thanks. Big thanks to all that participated and Rick Hemmingway from Deep River. The 5 stands ran flawless and everyone shot very well. We had 7 shooters total, 5 Parkers and two British 8's. Hopefully we can encourage more 8ga gun owners to participate in the future especially our LC Smith and Lefever brothers. It was really big fun and it made everyone laugh watching target after target black ball.

You all can welcome Mike Smith to the 8ga society as he now has one of the champs (Craig T.) Parker 8 ga. cannons. We played with it and measured it in his smoking lounge last night. You 8ga. guys need an intervention. Nice shooting Craig.

Yes I thought Mike was kidding when he said he wanted one so I passed the first I acquired along to Mike . But I might have to replace it with another one And thanks Daryl

I shot a second round of 5 stand with the 8 Saturday and didn’t post as nice a score but still another I wasn’t displeased with . Perhaps we can get another event at Hausemanns in June . But I’d prefer it on the five stand rather instead of that Mad Tom errr Mad Jack whatever it’s called .

The 8 ga shoot was a hoot! First time w an 8 for me, and I may be hooked! Alas it was only an English hammer gun, but one of my best 5 stand scores!
