I'll bring bagels and cream cheese and no Mossberg's. If I come up the day before, anyone recommend a hotel/motel to stay at?

I checked the advanced weather and it looks like partly sunny and a balmy 41 degrees for New Years day in Barrington NH. You can't ask for a better day for January in the northeast. I set aside a few pounds of meat from yesterdays harvest and Deb will be starting the stew tomorrow. Look forward to shooting with everyone at Major Waldron's.

Shooting begins at 9 for those traveling long distances... for all others it starts at 9 ;-)

10 Bore has asked for a head count. Please add me and non-shooting friend Kathy to the head count.

George, I need the reminder... I always try to be there a half-hour early and still manage to be late!

See you there.

Afraid I'm going to have to miss this shoot. My 8 mos old English setter, Sophie, is in full blown heat. My outdoor kennel isn't heated and I would prefer not to leave her in the house alone (when there's no one around to let her out to do her biz) for that length of time.

Well I guess that's a pretty good reason Allen.

See you next time.

Sophie is quite special. I've had her at Markover on three occasions and she has performed flawlessly. Hunts close, doesn't range wide, quarters on command, points like a fool and retrieves to hand. She's located and pointed all the birds put out and then some. Her retrieving to hand is natural and is without any training from me. She's unbelievable and I'm looking forward to working her next season on woodcock and grouse in Maine. The two guides at Markover that we've used are just blown away at how natural she hunts. I'll miss this shoot for sure
