You can start a new thread but the perfect Grouse gun is just an illusion of the combination of wood and steel but its ok with me

Yes both bbls work now. It was a simple fix and the Grouse did pay the penalty as did some Pheasants.

I have to agree with most of the posters on this thread. Wood is normaly the first thing I notice on a gun that is sitting on the rack. But then again,......... My wife asked me once, what is the first thing you notice about a woman? My answer was, "it depends.". She asked " depends on what." I said "it depends on weather the woman is coming or going"

It is said that the Grade 2 and lower Meriden guns had American Black Walnut but either that one isn't or if it is, it is from a very old tree

It looks like American Black but those mineral streaks aren't often seen in American Black unless the tree was ancient.

Oh, incase you were wondering - that one is pretty!
