16 ga 1 1/2 frame

I have my grandfathers 1 1/2 frame 16 ga w 28 inch barrels. I grew up with this 16 and it was my go to gun for woodcock and grouse. The 16's may be somewhat out of favor these days but for many yrs the 16 was the new england grouse and woodcock gun. Oops, i stand corrected. My 16 is a 1 frame.

Milton, I don't have a picture of anything. Our members know that. However. there are pictures of some of my guns in Double Gun Journal articles and Parker Pages articles, and a Remington Journal article. If I ever learn how to work a camera, more of my guns will surface.

Dont you also have a Parkers 10 ga with factory 3.5" chambers ?
That and the #3 frame 16 ga has got to me 2 of the coolest Parkers in my book .

I use my phone camera for uploading any pictures , I dont currently have a proper camera .

Milton, my original, lettered, 3 1/2" ten gauge is a Grade 1 Twist Steel gun. It was made prior to modern 3 1/2" factory ammunition. Another is a DH #3 frame 12, sleeved to 3 1/2" ten by Frank Lefever and Son. It is about the best sleeve job I have ever seen. The rib was remarked "Lefever Steel" in Parker style stamps. I found it walking around the Chantilly, VA show. The owner was embarrassed to tell me it was not an original Parker. Oh well.

John, thanks for caring. If you get up my way, stop in. By the way, Milton, I think my 3 1/2" ten is a six frame. Best of both worlds. I have seen English tens with Damascus barrels nitro proved for 3 1/2" tens and 2 or 2 1/4 ounces of shot. One was a hammer Purdey in high condition which I foolishly did not buy. I wouldn't be afraid to shoot this six frame with modern 3 1/2" tens.

I seem to remember a discussion on this forum about another gun ordered by the same person that was also some sort of oddball. Oddly, my #3 frame 16 is fairly lightly choked. It shows wear consistent with many days enjoyed in the field. I have never measured the chambers and the letter doesn't specify anything odd in that category.
