Josh, why couldn't you spread the wealth and show half at Rock Mt where many of the Parker, LC Smith, and Fox guys are going to be at....? Just saying...............

Good point, Eric. I haven't yet been cloned and the other guys on staff are sprinkled around the country at other venues / tasks. As soon as I am cloned I promise we'll be at both places! LOL!!!!

Well, did anyone bring anything nice home? Phenomenal auction. Seems like a lot of exceptional deals, at least among English & Continental doubles.

I really enjoyed the auction very much even if I couldn't afford to participate.
Many fantastic and unusual firearms. Good times !

Best regards,

Jeff

You can sign into the on-line site to get the unverified results for all four days.

It looks like many of the SXS went for just below the low estimate- so with the buyer's premium, the cost would be at or just above the low estimate.

For Parkers, some of the exceptions were the 28s. Otherwise, there were some real deals on some very nice guns.

Is the market down, were the estimates high-or both?

I didn't count the Parkers but I'd say the WLM estate collection overloaded the auction with Foxes. If I counted correctly there were 31 Fox guns ..... and there's only so many Fox collectors out here with only so much money to spend for higher end Foxes. Last I heard the WLM collection was anticipated for the Spring 2017 auction, kind of a surprise to see it in this auction, and I wonder if that was the best move for Julia and for the consignors of other Fox guns in the auction?

For those who watched the Julia auction on Proxibid, a gun showed "sold to on-site buyer" if it didn't make its reserve. Huh? Maybe Josh can clarify why that would be?

Default Julia trap gun

Got a Parker DHE Trap Vent Rib 32" with extra 28" barrel. Remington era gun. Bought right at low estimate. Very few case colors but engraving is very sharp in photos. I have an affinity for the vent rib traps. A WLM gun

I couldn't resist, bought an exquisite Hoffman Mauser from the unsold lots. There are some really good deals available among the unsold lots, might want to peruse.

In case some of you haven't seen this yet - this is a listing of the guns that didn't sell at the auction.
