Jim, I have a 33" C Bernard top action hammer gun. Is your gun on a #4 frame?

Bill ... My SN 33940 is a 10ga - Grade 3 - on a #5 frame with 34" Bernard barrels ... The charts in the Parker Story show it to be the only gun of that configuration, but because some of the Parker Bros records are missing, all I can say that it's the ONLY KNOWN GUN of that particular configuration.

only THIRTY FOUR inches...around here we'd call that gun "Stubby"! Destry uses a 34" DHE as a quail gun... Seriously, a neat gun, Jim

My 34" CHE will have to do...there's a 32" magnum Fox HE up too (at a low estimate) if you are into heavyweights, don't need another one of those either...

I am restoring a VH 12 with 34" barrels. It is on a 3 frame. I have two 8 gauges (not Parkers) one Greener sxs with 36" barrels and a William Griffiths hammer with 39" barrel. I can't top the 40" 16 gauge! I would like to get a 4 gauge or punt gun some day.

Guy,

I can't beat that, my Churchill 8 gauge is only 36 inches. I do have a punt gun though, but it's a shorty, barrel is only about 5 feet long. Nice big bore though, just over an inch and a half if memory serves.

Destry,

Tell me about your Churchill 8 gauge. I did not know that Churchill made many large bores. Is it a sidelock?
