Let's not knock the Duchess' boxlock - it could be a 16 ga. Westley Richards droplock or a Mackay-Brown 20!

Yes. - when I saw the action I was hoping she showed up at Balmoral with a classic Scottish piece. But let's face it, she is most likely shooting what was available from the arsenal that fit. And that is no slam on the young lady's being willing to give it a go.

Have just come back from a weekend of teaching Hunter Ed. I used this picture as an example of good and bad practices.

BTW, had an interesting experience. One of our students was a young man who is legally blind. He shot, and even broke one of the clay targets we were thowing. Not sure who was more excited, him or me.

I believe she is friends with the lady in this article:

It seems she is (was) a stocker with Purdey.

Hey fellow Parker guys!

Let's consider that some of you are blasting Kate for shooting a boxlock. Don't we all shoot boxlock Parkers?

Now, I do own and appreciate the great American sidelock, LC Smith. Parkers have however superceded them in my collection. I also have a fondness for AH Fox boxlocks and Lefever sideplated boxlocks.

There is nothing wrong with a good boxlock.
