Thanks to Jon Deeter, Wes Dillon, and Josh for your hospitality yesterday. I'm sorry I wasn't in condition to wave a lot of guns around, but I enjoyed looking at a few. Good luck with the auction.

Lot 26 must have been a record price for a DHE 20, single trigger, beavertail in high original condition. Lot 27 was interesting as well. Congrats to the lucky buyers and sellers!

I thought the Harrison Parker went for a steal.

Maybe if it were a President that was in office for more than 31 days.

Yup, there were records and there were bargains. Selling prices are on the G&Dbid website in real time. I'm on lunch break, should have bought crabs when I was over there yesterday, $58.00 a half bushel. In the middle of the week, you can negotiate size. Oh, well. I turned the auction off in the 140's.

That and the fact he bought it for his brother.

I bid on several guns, some quite hard. I really wanted the $175 hammer gun with the Parker laminate barrels (because I would like to own them all). I also but id well up on the SC which just struck me as a good looking gun, but they both got to a level I couldn't justify. The SC hung on one of my bids, was then sniped, then escalated and took another jump.

Looking at the hammer plus commission prices, I don't think we really need to worry about the future of old doubles. The very top end prices are always subjective, but the clean collectible middle guns I thought were very strong. The most attractively priced guns seemed to be the serviceable entry level guns; especially in 12 gauge. I think these reflect supply and demand and I am encouraged that people interested in getting started can obtain a solid useable hunting gun of good quality at a very reasonable price. Once the rarity factor goes up the slightest amount, then prices are up enough to show that there is long term value there.

With the several guns I bid on, I ended up buying only one and it was a Beretta.

It was a very interesting auction to observe. I did place a low ball bid on a 8ga English gun but was unsuccessful. I did consign four guns and three sold within estimate and one double the high estimate. The proceeds will offset the cost of my just aquired Fox XE 16ga 30". I shipped four more guns off to G&D for the Feb 2026 auction in my never ending mission to upgrade my collection LOL! I purchased three Parker 20ga guns this year and need to make room. One comes and one must go.

Wrong President Harrison. Wm Henry Harrison was president 94 March 1841 until his death 04 April 1841. This Parker was fir his grandson, Benjamin Harrison, our 23rd President, 1889 to 1893.
