Yes Bob that's right. And if you'll recall our conversation several months ago this is a 471 gun. Thanks for your help. I'm hoping that the 28 gauge, that the guy has, comes available at some point.

That number is not that far off Matt. Only about 500 total between the two generations. 470,000 and 471,000 serial ranges.

Jack Jones was an in house engraver, but there may have been others. When I visited him several years ago he had two in the white guns that he was given when they shut down. Think one was a 20 and the other a 28 gauge. Wonder what happened to those guns after he passed.

Some guns unfinished at the time of closing were finished by Gunther Pfromer later.

Gunther at one time lived very close to Jack Jones. They worked on a ton of guns together. When I saw Gunther at last years Southern, he said he was looking for another engraver to establish a relationship. Not sure who he found it anyone. Jack was a very interesting guy. I believe at one time he was a foreman for Ken Hurst when Ken was running a rather large engraving operation doing Colts etc.

Years ago after Steve Lamboy closed the business, the Hartman Bros. at Elmira Arms in NY had what they claimed was Steve's personal gun for sale, a 7E 28 ga. It was a beautiful gun; I never followed what happened to it.

The one I'm searching for is the ten gauge that Steve had at the Vintagers one year, at Sanonna. A one and only that never went into production.
