I started seeing this scam several months ago. Rifle bullets are unobtainable in all but a few really major demand areas. I started seeing a lot of websites with tremendous numbers of product listings, all of which weemed to be available. Things like bullets, reloasding dies of every flavor etc. Most I found seemed to list Texas and Tennessee as home. All required pyment through some never heard of payment service. No answer on phone, email or chat. I have seen a few Gunbroker sellers starting this now.

Finally Hodgdon, Remington and Federal are waking up and offering online sales direct to the consumer. I was able to buy two cases of Remington Gun Club 20ga shells for a total cost of $11.00/ box. Federal also had 20's in stock, direct. Unfortunately neither deliver to New York so I had to have them shipped to a friends business in PA. Fortunately he lives a mile from me and visits his PA shop once a week and is kind enough to transport them home. The crap you have to go endure to shoot your guns!!!

In my observation powder has been and continues to be the most difficult component to find. Primers have been showing up every few weeks, especially Cheddites at BPI. Brownells had some Cheddites this week. I have seen small amounts of domestic made primers available, mostly Federal but some CCI, no Winchesters. Wads are available on-line and in some gun stores. Shot can be had easily if you are willing to pay the higher prices for it.

When I reflect on the early 2020's three words will come to mind: Out of Stock

A friend an I were on the road in PA a while back. He decided to call a dealer close to where we were and ask about Red Dot. I think shipping powder to MD had a very low limit at the time. He mentioned that to the lady on the phone. She asked how much he wanted. He said six eight pounders. A few days later, there were six eight pounders on his front porch.
