Are you sure those initials aren't C.E.P? You may have found parts to the long rumored collaboration between Charles Eddy Parker and Lyman Cornelius Smith to form a new gun company called Parker and Smith Brothers! This could be the find of the century. Brice will probably start a new thread looking for the action and barrels.

I have an idea... how about you tell us how you came to believe that this LC smith stock and guard have anything to do with Charles Parker. Sound fair...?

OK, I'll state the obvious.

First: Just because you believe you have something doesn't mean that, in reality, is what you have. Example: A Mossberg SN: 202938 Doesn't get me an A Grade Parker.

Second: There are historians of all things Parker on this board with great depth of knowledge and experience. They are more than willing to share relatively freely, where it would cost you a fair amount of money to purchase and time to research. Calling them assholes, when you are being an asshole, will not only alienate them, but have you removed from the board for vulgar language.

I await my punishment Mr. Dunkle.

For those of us that witnessed, participated in, this unfortunate exchange,I want to apologize for sticking my nose in.

It is exactly this type of exchange that drove me to the refuge of the Parker site.

I was entertained. A fun read over coffee.

It doesn't compare with the time [a well known gun forum kook] went on the old Lefever forum and insisted his porch-whittled Ithaca Nitro Special was in fact a "$1,000 Grade Syracuse Lefever," however. As I recall, the story included engraving by at least two famous engravers, one of whom was dead by the time the gun was made, and the other never worked for Lefever. There was also some classic "old family legend" that went along with it. All good fun! He made 8 furious posts and then never returned.

Delusion can be a powerful opiate.
