I don't think we meant for it to be a joking matter the other day on the board, we just sorta jumped on the train and added some humor. If you can't laugh, you're only other option is be a stone face or cry. I can't really see either one of those.

I would sure like to see a picture of the serial number on the side of the lug. That would be quite unusual and may be a sign that Remington rebarrelled the gun. To answer your question, the Remington repair codes do no devalue a Parker shotgun. It adds interest and further proof of work by Parker craftsmen.
