That feature was introduced back in the four-digit serial number range... In other words, right at the beginning of the "dollar grades."
If you want to check on the originality, gently lift and rotate the trigger guard tang to see if your gun's serial number is stamped into the wood.

Yeah, I know, I typed it at 7:30 or so, and wandered off, then came back and hit submit. I'm easily distracted.

Default Letter received on the "D"

Received the research letter, confirming the gun is all original. It did not confirm the sling swivels, but they certainly look like those on other guns that were. Interestingly, at a LOP of 13 1/8", you would think it was a custom order gun? We have a Galco slip on leather to extend it a bit. But overall, quite pleased!

The order book is missing, that would be where it would list the swivels if requested. I've never seen it mentioned in the stock books.

Well forgive my use of the wrong word. My intention was not to suggest his gun was the only gun with full cover checkering made. Only that it is a feature that deviates from the norm in that grade. I should have left it be by calling it "out of the ordinary".

Good thing i have you to correct me.

Nothing to forgive Brian... Maybe you could forgive me for being too much the editor sometimes

In my time between ending formal education and now i have also become quite poor at spelling too at times. I would not want to be you having to edit my PP contributions. But i am sure Word takes care of a lot of it before it gets to you.

Its a beautiful sunny morning out on the Great Windy, its the last day of the Kansas bird season, I have two good bird dogs, a couple 20 ga Parkers, open land and quail, and buddies. Off to end the season here, then down to Oklahoma tomorrow to putter about in the sandhills.

Life is good. Photos to follow.
