Either way we would not trade them for anything, they just give way so much to us in enjoyment, Gary

Gunner carried a shoe (always one of mine) with him around the house. He laid on it in his chair but never chewed it up, just carried it around. Daisy isn't a big chewer BUT she did chew a claw off the life size Grizzly mount!

Years ago when we had four Drathaars,I forgot them in the house when we left for a few hours. When we returned we found that they had gotten into a lynx rug and we had hair on two floors of the house. Nothing left larger than a quarter, hair on every inch.
Another time they decapitated my young daughters complete Barbie collection.
I believe it was about that time that we phased in English Setters into the pack.

oh yeah- like English setter are all gentlemen

I cannot begin to count the items mine have chewed up- the older one has been opened twice to get things out that never should have gone down the gullet to start with

the younger one doesn't need surgery - he can pass anything- a ziplock bag with a few of those "pill pockets" for meds for a barn cat disappeared off a high cabinet a few days ago- it showed up in the front yard today

I hear that...
Dot, my oldest Setter was walking around a week or two ago, coughing and gagging. She stopped in the middle of the kitchen while the family sat at the dinner table. With a great retch, up came one of my new Under Armor athletic socks!! My son decided she would sleep in the basement, not on his bed like she typically does.

Hobbs prefers shopping boating and fishing catalogue's, if these are not available, the last rolled up newspaper "enforcer" left laying around is an acceptable substitute in his opinion.

Good timing. My 7 month old Lew was caught by my wife chewing up the end of a fantastic blank of English Walnut I had squirreled away behind a couch. How the little shit got behind the couch and drug it out was beyond me. Blank weighed about 12 lbs.

I had a beautiful little Gordon ,after a day in the woods I put him in his wire crate to dry off while I ate supper ...beyond all reason and belief ,he managed to reach his paw out and hook the lace of a brand new pair of 10"Bean boots the lace was around two feet away I remember it flopping down as I threw them off thinking he can't reach that ...well he did ,took the leather top right off about half ways down ,he was quite proud of himself actually.
