I used to blow a Tennessee call, was the best single reed I ever owned. Made by a guy named Vance Hudgeons (spelling?). I finally wore it out and never could find him to try and get another.

I knew Alvin Taylor slightly, fantastic calls but I never could make one work for me. I'm mostly a double reed man. Harlan made a good hunting call for a little while, short barrel bois d'arc wood. I had one but a friend was so enamored with it I gave it to him. I was going to buy another but he'd quit making the style when I got around to asking.

I lost a lot of respect for Harlan when he fought so hard to try and keep the Glodo name from being associated with Southern Illinois. He wanted Victor Glodo to have been dropped straight from Heaven onto Reelfoot Lake and wouldn't hear of it being otherwise. Nash Buckingham said he was originally from Southern Illinois in his duck call story and it was proven with census records. Harlan even had some unsigned letter he showed around that was supposedly from a relative of Victor that said he never lived in Illinois. Ridiculous.......
