I looked but couldn't find any close ups so I just ran out and took a couple real quick ,so ,they are not the best ! I agree ,on the BSS ,I bought mine new around 1980 and just fell in Love with it as soon as I started shooting it , I should knock on wood but I carried no other gun for the better side of 25 years and it has been trouble free ! I have a small chip at the toe of the stock where one of my old Hunting Dogs ,put his front poaws up on my gun cleaning bench and knocked it to the floor and it just took out a small chip ! I have another NOS Butt Plate but never put it on yet !

For a modern SXS the BSS is a hard one to beat.

Thanks Russ, that's a knockout piece of wood on it. I waterfowl hunted with mine after they mandated steel shot for the better part of 20yrs. and also have never had a problem with it. Mine is also a straight stock with a beavertail and I truly love shooting it. It's my foul weather gun. The Parkers and Foxes only come out on nice days.
