Default crow hunt

well last night i had a package at my front door when i got home from walmart....i could not wait to open it up sure enough in it was the crow decoy one of them that has wings on it and they turn in the wind...this was given to me by one of our great crow hunters...thanks....well i soon had that decoy together and gathered up my owl decoy and found 2 boxes 3 inch 12 ga shells grabbed a pump browning stood it in the corner and now all i had to do was wait till daylight which was still 12 hours away...by the way did not sleep to well...well was up by daylite fixed some ham and eggs eat quickly loaded up my gear and off to the field...first i set up myowl decoy then i set the crow decoy up about 8 foot away then set the johney stewart calling devise by the decoys...i then got hid real good by the old fence line loaded up the browning or should say try to load it...i could not get that thing to feed the shells from the magazine into the barrel..ya i know serves me rite for leaving the parkers home...well i could shoot it like a single barrel one shell at a time.. well finally got settled in i turned on the caller and was not long before i had a lone crow circleing ...decided to take a shot it was almost straight up that browning nearly knocked me outa the chair i was setting in... decided it mite be better to let a few more cros come in before i shot next time....in about 15 minutes them crows were getting worked up pretty good. here they come bang no crow reload bang no crow reload bang finally got one...them crows musta had enough i sat there for another hour and no crows..i then decided to take a few pictures of my little hunt to prove i did indeed get one crow...reached into my pocket for the camera guess what no camera it was still on the table when i got home... so thats how myfirst crow hunt started out this year.... charlie

Sounds like a blast Charlie! The crow season is closed here in NH...by god, I don't know why we can't blast these black devils all year long??
Be a great way to stay sharp in the winter...

Always enjoy reading your posts Charlie. Keep them coming. With a day you had with all the gun malfunctions and forgetting the camera, I think the next time you go, definitely bring the Parker loaded with 1.25 oz of # 6 shot with you next time to bust some crows.......
