Kyle,
Most do not realize that the trip is actually 3 pieces. The third of which being a small spring. Missing or broken, that spring can cause major issues. Your top lever should stay open when the breech is open and should snap closed when you close the breech. As for your trigger not working, not sure what you mean by not working, but that would be unrelated to the trip issue.

Thanks, Brian. When I got the trip installed correctly everything fell into place. The action now closes correctly and it fired fine when tested. Thanks again for your reply. Your disassembly gallery is a huge resource for Parker owners!
