That study was very interesting but it was approached differently then the way I had in mind. Actually his way was much simplier in proving the idea that damascus barrels are every bit as good as fluid steel. Not suprisingly fluid steel failed in brittle failure compared to damascus. I on the other hand wish to find the material properties of both metals at various strain rates, I have the equipment down at school to do this. Then use this data to make a Dynamic Finite Element Model on the computer. I have been planing on buying the parker story for some years but every time I have the money something comes up. Does anyone know the issue of Double Gun Journal the study was in so I can order it from them? And no guy I know wears red shoes but yes some of my relatives are rather excentric, but everyone has them in their family.

Zircon's studies have never been published.

The Double Gun & Single Shot Journal "Finding Out For Myself" by Sherman Bell Vol 17: Issue 3 (Autumn 2006) p. 12, Vol 17: Issue 4 (Winter 2006) p. 28, and Vol 20: Issue 3 (Autumn 2009) p. 108

My brother Tom at his daughter's wedding last Saturday. Don't let this fool you - he presents a dashing figure in his tuxedo otherwise...
