Default Barrel weight?

I have a DH 12ga #2 frame that has a barrel wt of 4/4. It swings good and feels balanced. I looked at a GH 12ga #1 1/2 frame yesterday that has a weight of 4/1. It was very barrel heavy. Both guns have 30" barrels. Is 4/1 heavy for a #1 1/2 frame? The bores were VERY bright and I wondered if they had been chromed. Made around 1895 and has a repaired broken wrist. Numbers match on fore end, barrel flats and frame. Way too much money at
$1995.

No. I have a 1 1/2 frame 12 that has heavier barrels than a couple 2 framed 12s I also own. I've seen 1 frames with uNstruck barrels weights in excess of 4lbs.

Thanks Ed. I was just surprised at how front heavy it seemed. If it had been a 16ga I'd be a proud new owner and sleeping in the dog house.;-)
