Looks like he was a rep for VL&D in 1914
http://www.la84foundation.org/Sports.../SL6402028.pdf Carl Von Lengerke, one of the best-known of the trade representatives in the past, connected with the United States Cartridge Company, will be among the missing at the Westy Hogans shoot for the first time in years, owing to his duties in the sales department. O. R. Dickey, the veteran from Boston, will look after the interests of this company.

Drew, it sounds more like he was taking Carl Von Lengerke's place as a U.S.C. rep.

You are probably correct Bill. O.R. was shooting USCC shells when he won the 1896 GAH
http://www.la84foundation.org/Sports.../SL2702020.pdf "O. R. Dickey, of Boston. Mass., winner used a very handsome Parker Bros, hammerless gun, of the pigeon model, and his load consisted of 50 grains, or about 3 1/2 drams by measure, of American "E. C." powder, 1 trap wad, one 3/8 inch pink felt, one 1/4-inch pink edge, and 1 1/8 ounce of No. 7 chilled shot in the United States Cartridge Co.'s "Rapid" shells, 2 3/4 inches in length." Bill & Chris: where is his AHE?
