Bill I also have a 375 H&H in a pre 64 M70 but have yet to blood it I have shot deer with a 416 Taylor, built on an older tang safty Ruger M77. It will drop then no questions and doesn't tear one up as much as a 270.
I have thought of working up a load for the 375 but haven't gotten around to it.

I have included a couple of pics of the two custom guns I'll use this year. The first two are the 257AI the rest are the 7X57AI. This rifle has been to colorado for Mule Deer and to Africa where it took Impala, Bush Pig and of all things great and small a Giraffe. this animal had been caught in a snare and was cut just above the hoof. It was limping badly and you could see the infection with binoculars and the PH made the call to end its suffering. The only reason it wasn't brought down by Hyena or Lion was probably due to it's size.

Note the trap door in the but of the 7X57 the stock is drilled out to hold 3 additional cartridges.
