My 10-gauge hull trimmer
I'm just about out of usable 10-gauge short hulls and today I did up 160 once fired 3-1/2" Federal and Winchester hulls, cutting them to 2-7/8". I can easily cut 7-8 hulls per minute once I get going. Here are pics of my setup. That's a 10-gauge barrel with its chamber end trimmed to 2-7/8" length; it was a non descript Belgian barrel with rusty bores I got for $10.00 at a gun show. The chamber section is held by the barrel lug in a bench vise and the cutoffs drop into an improvised catch bin. Finger pressure against the hull base holds it in the chamber. The craft saw has a fine tooth blade and in use, is held against the front of the chamber section while sawing. Precise and easy peasy.
