Default Thank You Tenn, NC, VA and Ky

It seems that your nasty winter weather and snow a couple weeks ago sent a bunch of woodcock down here to SC on the GA border. Lots of them spread all over the place. Fish on point during an early morning walk today on National Forest Land- too bad the woodcock season closed here at the end of January. Next year please send them a month earlier! Thank you in advance.

Although I’ve not been out yet, I can imagine woodcock might show up anytime now after the warm weather we’ve had. Topsy-turvy for sure.

That’s an intense point there, Chris!

That was one of those brisk canter to jam on the brakes and snap his head to the right points. But certainly without any of the style or grace of those beautiful setter breeds.

Optimism is shooting at and missing a woodcock in NH in October knowing that I might get to miss the same bird again in SC in December or January!
