Yup, looks like a 974.

If it has 4" jaws it would be a No. 974, identified by that number on the left side of the body of my 974. When purchased I decided to have mine refinished by having it sandblasted and then I painted it myself. Cost, all in, was <$250. What is that swastika/4-leaf clover looking thing on the top of the slide in Jerry's pic?

Greg,

It has four different size holes and has a pin in the middle that goes into the flat surface of the vise. I took for granted that it is an original part of the vise.

The plate isn't part of original Parker vise. This is the bottom pressing plate to an arbor press.

After y'all told me to look on the other side the vise is a 973 1/2.
