Default Deal Of The Year

I bought this Ithaca 5E SBT last week from a fellow who had it and a 4E advertised CHEAP!! I bought the 5E only as the 4E had an incorrect stock installed. His pictures were very poor and he had no idea what these guns really were other than what he was told by whomever he acquired them from. I made an offer and took a chance. The gun arrived today and the first thing I removed from the packaging was the barrel. When I saw the condition of the bluing I could hardly get the rest of the gun out of the box fast enough! Ithaca 5E SBT 34". I won't divulge what I paid but it was alot less than a used standard grade BT-99!
This is my deal of the decade!! I am so pumped! The gun fits me perfectly.I am going to send it to Chris Dawe for a thorough checkup, cleaning and lubing and it will be good to go to my first registered shoot with next spring.

I would send payment for the 4E as fast as I could. Rub a paper towel over the birds and the inlays will shine up.

Ok I did and the pheasant and woodcock came up bright silver. The eagle stayed the same. Is that how they should be? According to a serial # search the gun is a 1926 Knick. And I ended up purchasing the 4E as well even though I just bought another...

Yes; my 5E is the same - silver overlaid birds on the sides, engraved eagle on the bottom

My best luck with uncovering silver or gold inlay is a pencil eraser.

Congratulations Frank!

Great find! Sometimes even a blind nut finds a squirrel. 😎

The eagle is not a silver inlay. It won't shine up like the other birds.
