Default 1900, Side by side, 12 ga inherited help

My dad died earlier this month. This 12 gauge side by side was in the gun cabinet. I’m trying to learn about and the value to see how much I need to insure it for. I am a low level $300 shotgun gun, I know nothing about these higher end guns. The serial number says it’s from 1900.

Sorry about your Dad Scott.

If it’s a Parker Bros. shotgun we’ll need the serial number and some pictures so we can render some opinions.

I think we’ve seen that Parker on FaceBook, correct?
It’s value would depend on several factors, one being its condition, which is not especially good.
It is a Grade 0 which is at the bottom of the grades.
There may be one saving grace might be if the barrels are in safe shooting condition, e.g. is the wall thickness sufficient shooting condition.

This is the first time I put it online. I haven’t put it on Facebook. Not sure you can post guns there.

Hello Scott , Sorry about your Father Passing ! As for the V Grade your pictures aren't the best but you have it right there with you ,give it a good honest looking over and Go to gunbroker.com and look up side by side shotguns and then click onto Parker Brothers Shotguns and compare the condition of yours to the ones on there ,you will find upwards of 300 or so for sale ! Pay less attention to the " Asking Price " and more attention to the ones that are actually being bid on and then click " Watch " and watch them until the auction closes and see what they actually sell for and that will give you a very close idea as to " True Value " ,Most of the VH Grade 12 Gauge Parkers in average condition these days seem to sell on line between $700.00 and $1500.00 ,of course there are those with high condition that sell for considerably more but without much clearer Photos you probably won't get many comments here to the Value of your gun ! The best thing to do is ,join the PGCA , with your membership you get a nice discount compared to a Non Member if you decide to order a Factory Letter for your gun also a Wonderful Quarterly Magazine and Great Fellowship with the other members of the PGCA , then get it checked out by a competent gunsmith and start shooting it and enjoy the Gift from your Dad !

Sorry for your loss. I had to go through that last year, so I know your pain.
