Just for reference, here are a few of Remington steel barrel rebarrels of Twist/Damascus guns from the 1890s. A 0-frame Quality PH that got a set of Vulcan Steel barrels in 1936 --
87654 01 PH-Grade, 20-gauge, 28-inch Vulcan Steel CE3 C = Apr E = 1936.jpg
Here is a Quality BH, that got steel barrels, ejectors and a single selective trigger with 1937 and 1940 date codes --
84040 04 XF X = Dec F = 1937, PJ3 P = June J = 1940.jpg
A Quality GH that got steel barrels in 1940 --
