Sounds like you need to drive south and hunt with me. I'll drop you and the gun off in a spot that I can drive back up to and pick ya back up in the truck. I refuse to let any man not have adventure!

Great hunt Dean! Beautiful country in that Black Hills region. Is is hard to draw a turkey tag in SD? Just asking because we have cousins in Lead.

Mike,
All tags are drawn. There are Black Hills, Prairie, and Custer tags. The Black Hills was the easiest to draw. I don't know the math on a non-resident. I have been unsuccessful drawing East of the Missouri river lately. The west river tags seem to be easier or more abundant.

From my perspective, private land permission is important for the Black Hills and Prairie tags.

Thanks Dean. I hooked up with an outfitter from Fort Pierre while at Pheasant Fest. They have a variety of birds and big game on their property. That may be an option for me. I know I already have a trip there cooking to get 3 days of hunting and 4 days of visiting in. That'll keep Sammy happy.
