We’re loading up and getting ready. Shoppers and offers welcome at the Lion Stone booth all weekend long! It’ll be our largest display ever! I enjoy the weekend of the Southern more than any other weekend of the year.

And for those that follow Guyette and Deeter, wait until you see the Parkers they will have on display!

I never plan on buying anything. I bought a Jeep several weeks ago for an Upper Peninsula woods/ grouse hunting buggy so I was safe. I didn't even bring a check book. I left two guns for sale and sold one.
Immediately I bought a Leopold Vari X III 3.5x10x40 gloss. These are hard to find and I have a new (1974 vintage) Browning Safari grade (Sako action) 243 or a Cooper Custom Classic 17 HMR to put it on. I also stumbled into a pound of Green Dot powder. I was a happy camper and content with these meager acquisitions.
However I stopped to say hello to Bob Nay at McNab firearms to introduce myself. I bought a matched pair of Stephan Grant 16's from him right after the Southern last year.
I ended up with a matched pair of Purdey Island Lock hammer guns and a GH 32 inch twenty. Not bad for not having a check book

Must be something about the good looks and the Snow White beard, not sure how else you could pull that off

Allow me to add that poor Richard has NEVER left the Southern without buying a gun or two, checkbook or not. The GH twenty is nice.

Saw the GH 20 32" Rich; nice gun! Didn't look closely at the Island Lock Purdeys; are they Galapagos or Falklands style??
