Your post makes me HAPPY.....I run a Gorden also, my Ruby is almost 13 and retired from front line work. We have a new member coming home in mid-January, a field bred Gordon. Her name will be Charlie. I also hope to enjoy her first pointed wild bird brought to hand. SXS ohio

Kenny, good to hear from you, and to know that Miss Ruby is well and enjoying semi-retirement. I hope your new pup will have lots of birds in her life (a Gordon?), and that Ruby has the chance to mentor her.

Do you still make trips to Kansas for quail?

Ruby is a beauty still. I hope it's okay that I righted her photo. My best to you, Ruby and your new pup.

We hunt Hill City in NW Kansas, and the bird numbers are the lowest ever according to my landowners. One owner even thinks they might not come back! The quail are doing a little better, but they really need some good weather out there. Yes, Ruby is doing well, and we are all looking forward to Charlie's arrival in mid-January. Good to hear from you Garry and maybe we get together this coming fall in Michigan for a grouse hunt....
