The standard bead would be a threaded (no2) nickel silver bead. A brass one would not be factory. So you are likely going to have to make or modify one to replace it.

Brian, thanks for the information. Sounds like I need to examine the hole in the rib under a bit of magnification after detailed cleaning, quite possible I simply didn't see threads. Do you have source for a proper replacement? If so please advise, I'd like to replace it with an original or a quality reproduction. If the threads are not serviceable a tiny bit of good epoxy might be my best bet.
