TRUE STORY: A few years back I purchased an unfired DHE 28ga. 2-bbl. set as a speculative investment. After receiving the gun I test fired it using snap caps and found the ejectors were quite anemic, very much like you’ve described Anthony. I continued test firing with the snap caps and found that the more times the ejectors did their job, the more robust they became. Eventually the ejectors functioned like you’d normally expect. I never did fire that gun with live ammo and it has since moved down the river of commerce.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Who knows? The same result could happen with your gun.
