I bought one new in the early 1960s when in high school with money from mowing lawns
12 b 30" barrel and full choke very nice until I fired it with a trap load. Quickly decided it needed a recoil pad which helped a little but not much on the shelf with it at the hardware store was a new Model 12 28 inch barrel with modified choke but I was a poor teenager I do not remember an un-fired cartridge being ejected |

The Model 37 is reload sensitive because there is no camming action to start the ejection process, only the ejector spring. Great gun otherwise.

I agree with Bill , Great Guns , I shot my first Grouse with my Grand Dads Model 37 Red Letter ! I inherited it and still carry it at times and yes it still ejects whether fired or unfired shells ! Still kicks as hard as when I was 12 years old ,didn't seem to bother me for the last 55 years but for some reason I am starting to notice that again !
