Does anyone have a recipe for Lil Gun in 3" hulls with 3/4oz shot?? I have 100+ blue/green Remington 3" m/ts, and they have the biggest volume. I machined up a die that resizes the #57 Primer to a #209 size. And I just got some of the 'Stump' wads and have a 4 pounder of Lil Gun. I have an old published recipe that states 15gr 2400, any wad, any std primer, with 3/4oz, which is what I used to load in my Fed papers with 16gr. Does anyone have an old bag of Fed 3" paper M/Ts that they would be willing to part with as I still have a few pounds of 2400?? Mom unhappy, as I manage to dump about as many as get loaded. I am loading one at a time, resize and prime a few dozen, then drop into each one with my old Hollywood powder measure, put a wad in and tamp with a cu rod, and then the fun begins, when I weigh shot and dump in, then it is off to the precrimp and then the final crimp. Good thing I only shoot a few dozen or less on a dove outing. Thank You!

I am using the same heavy powder charge of 296 that I have used for my 2 1/2" shells. It is heavier (15 grains) than recommended but has worked for me forever. The pressure is probably even higher in a 3" 11/16 ounce load but I don't think it's over the top for pressure. Look in the Winchester loading manual.

Hi Bill,

I just scored the following 410s; Winchester Double-X Diamond Grade 410 Bore Ammo 3" 3/4 oz #7-1/2 Shot Case of 100 Rounds, for $179.00 (on sale, whuuuuu), but I, nor Mom, can get down to clean up the multiple messes when I reload 410s, and I have been invited to an early season grouse hunt as well as a pheasant hunt in Eastern Mont, so I just bit the bullet; we only live once! Now, to get some 8 or 8.5s for early season grouse and quail. The last time I heard of the Win Double X loads, I was informed that they were #8s & 9s??? I have a friend who is going to load some for me for late season quail, but I'm just getting going earlier this year, good thing, as NB said, you never know when you have gone on your last hunt. As an aside, does anyone know where I might get some B&P Extra Rossa 28ga fiber wad loads in 8s??

All the Best to Everyone during the Upcoming Seasons, Tom

Tom, I load 3" shells. I'll have to check this afternoon but I do have Li'l Gun data for those shells.

Tom, I load 3" hulls. 11/16 oz shot and have recipes for 13.11g Li'l Gun and 13.7g W296. I use the SP410wads or the BP Max410 wad with a .410OS card. Both powder charges work off a #10 bushing in my press.
