I used WIN 540 religiously for years . Then like most everything else they quit making it ! I’m told Hodgdon HS-6 is the same thing but I didn’t try it before I sold my last 28 . I have used Unique in the past with very good results and I had a load using Universal Clays . 12’s and 20’s I don’t segregate hulls as long as they’re AA or STS and the 28’s had pretty much gotten that way with me as well . As for wads I used CB old AA or AA HS .

I’ve been reloading the 28ga. WAA CF and STS 2 3/4” hulls for many years. These recipes come straight out of Hodgdon’s Reloading Manual published in 1997. I’ve been totally satisfied with these loads and see little reason to change as I’ve got enough of the proper components for the time being.

* 28ga. WAA CF hull
* W209 primer
* 13gr. Universal powder
* CB1034-28 wad
* 3/4 oz. Shot
* 10,800 psi
* 1200 fps

* 28ga. Remington STS hull
* W209 primer
* 13.8gr. Universal powder
* CB1034-28 wad
* 3/4 oz. Shot
* 10,600 psi
* 1200 fps
