			Phil, I think that is a wonderful lifter with several unique features.  In my opinion it would be worth fixing. I would "guess" the the rib was loose or came off and to screw it on was easier then soldering back on. I think that can be fixed or at least improved. That would be a good question for Breck Gorman. I like that curved buttplate. Overall a fantastic early Lifter! | ||||||

			Could be screws for a sight. I had a GH that had two screw holes at either end of the barrrl roll mark. I was told they fastened a Nydar (?) gunsight.

			I have two Parkers with screws in the rib.  Unfortunately, my Nydar sights do not line up with the screw holes.
