Nice pictures!

Unfortunately we don't know what the F.9.R. means nor do we know the meaning of the B prefix to the serial number.

I love the bulbous ball grip on the early lifters. If you have it re-checkered be sure it is done absolutely period-correct.

The Buttstock is not original to the gun, it appears to have come from another gun and the buttpad is a 1930's parker. the right side locking plate also isn't the correct original. Since there are no records on this one, I'll just have to guess my best on the restoration. Will have a professional do the work.

It looks like there ARE records to support a research letter on your gun. They are almost certainly repair records, but I bet they shed light on the gun's current configuration. Probably a good $40 investment for you

Already bought it. Only record was a repair in 1896. Aside from that, I only have the gun to go by.

I did find 2 more marks that appear to be worn 01 on each barrel forward of the PB shields. Any ideas?
