Having owed a 34 inch 12 gauge for several duck seasons, I can assure you anything longer is cumbersome. I believe 34 inch may be the perfect waterfowling length.

A lot of it has to do with the stock dimensions . I’ve got two 8 gauge hammer guns both 36” . The first I got has some drop but not bad I can shoot it okay , the second and older one has a stock like the proverbial dogs hind leg and weighs perhaps two pounds more . That things a PITA to shoot .

34" is enough for me, but I was surprised at how well Daryl's handled. It just goes to show how the Parker folks knew how to make guns and make guns that balance

I've shot Destry's 34" gun - the famous swamp angel - and can vouch for it's effectiveness on waterfowl. I miraculously pulled off one of the better crossing shots of my life with that thing. I'll add that it's a good thing the guide was quick at ducking up in the bow as I swung it through from right to left?!! Great time!!

Stop! You guys are going to make me have to buy a taller safe.
![]() I'll be checking out the long-legged guns at Rock Island, and hope none of them speaks to me.
