I shot the event the first year with one of the Parker 8 gauges made available for loan. It was great fun but a bit intimidating to shoot a gun that’s bigger than you are.

Next on my agenda is an 8 bore Parker. That will complete the ensemble.

Loading some 1 1/2 ounce today with Clays and #7 1/2 and five red beans as filler

I wonder if you could use a 1/4" fiber wad or card under the sp8 wad then with the 1.5oz loads all the shot would be contained inside the wad? I havnt played around with any of the 1.5oz loads since I dont have any powder besides Bluedot.
