Rust removal

I am no expert but I have good success with the Frontier pad that Dean and Matt alluded to. I also like the Kroil, it smells good as well.

I use a stainless steel scrubbie and any good quality gun oil. It'll remove the surface rust and not damage the bluing.

See pictures of my post #11 in this thread years ago. This Sauer was so rust covered you could not read any lettering on it or see case colors. WD-40 and a Frontier pad did the trick in a couple hours! I still have the gun and it still looks every bit as good as it did after cleaning it up back then.
