If you want a vintage gun, a Stevens/Savage/Ranger/etc… or a Nitro Special/Western Arms long range would be the most reliable and serviceable options. Economy offerings like crescents are just not worth taking the chance on unless they are in very good shape.

I am sure you want a double, but what about a single shot? Or even the stevens/savage 24? .410 over .22 cal.

I have a single shot but would like to have that second barrel if needed...

I have a Western Arms Long Range and it is a great gun. I had a Crescent Arms hammer gun which was also a cool gun and it shot well. I had since sold it and use a Parker for those events. Can't go wrong with Nitro Special/Western Arms or a good condition Crescent.
