That long-legged beauty needs to have its business end trained on a turkey's head not lounging around in a gun safe.

The late EDM (Ed Muderlak for those who didn't know him) coined the term "flying turnips" for the engraved ducks on some Parkers that actually look a lot like turnips with wings. We see them on a few Meriden Fire Arms guns too.... likely the same engraver.

I seem to remmember having heard the turnip thing a couple times before but I was thinking it was in the scroll pattern some such way . As to Turkey I made my peace with them a few years back. But I’m not adverse to popping one while deer hunting if the opportunity presents itself .
