I had one Manufrance Ideal that was originally 24 but the guy I bought it from had it chamber sleeved to 28. I thought I’d be the perfect quail gun, but I shot it very poorly. Then a couple years ago I bought a three gun lot from Rock Island. The gun I was interested in was listed as a Belgian 28 bore hammerless side lever double. When I got it home and looked it over and could tell something didn’t look right. First it was a German made gun. Second a 28 shell dropped past the extractor, a 20 wouldn’t chamber. After doing some measuring, it was clear that it was a 24 bore. I decided to have it chamber sleeved to 28. I shoot it really well on pointed quail.

I’ve also had two different 32ga doubles. One Spanish one Belgian. Wished now I’d kept the Spanish gun. I shot it well to.
